review 1: Based on the popular tumblr account (which has gone mysteriously inactive since this book was released), this collection of texts between a bulldog and his long-suffering owner is vulgar and hysterical. The man's sarcasm and superior intelligence are no match for Dog, who is horny, destructive, and gullible. He has a super-powered alter ego known as BatDog, whose confrontations with his nemesis CatCat are particularly hilarious. The illustrations are pretty cute, which is good because they are the only real edge the dead tree format has over the (free) digital one.
review 2: I've followed the twitter and tumblr accounts for ages and was looking forward to the book coming out. Maybe I wasn't in the mood but it just didn't make me laugh to the point of tears l... moreike the tumblr has some times. Also disappointed to see a couple of double-ups in the book. The same conversation has been repeated several times. "I believe I can fly" is on page 10 and 117, and "That BASTARD CATCAT made up his own theme tune" is on 48 and 99. less
