review 1: "Mistletoe on Main Street" by Olivia Miles was just what I needed to get the holiday spirit flowing. This quaint Christmas-time romance features Grace, a writer returning to her hometown after her father's death. However, returning home also means facing Grace's former flame, Luke Hastings. Grace's return dredges up feelings in both of them.This first novel in the Briar Creek series, is a heart-warming holiday love story about recovering from loss and reconnecting with lost loves. Grace and Luke are both likeable and give me high hopes for the rest of this series.I received a courtesy copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
review 2: I received a copy of this book from the author as a goodreads Giveaway. This is the first book by this author that ... moreI have read and I found that I thorough enjoyed the story. Grace Madison decides to return to her hometown when she inherits her father's book store after his death. The author does such a lovely job of describing this town at Christmas that you want to be find this place and become a visitor if not a resident. What I also enjoyed about this author's writing is that I found all of her characters to be well developed, especially her main characters who must reconcile the pain of their past with their present. The emotion of the story comes through as the author intended.In my opinion, this was a good first start to a new series. It allowed you to get to know the characters and become invested in their lives. Once you finished the story, it left you wanting more in the series to find out what happens in the lives of the other residents of the town. I will definitely check out future books in this series as well as other books written by the author. less
