review 1: This is the sequel to Almost Home. This time the main character is racing across Europe to try to locate her former boyfriend who she thought died 10 years earlier. It was an entertaining read, but the story was implausible and the main character had too many emotional flaws for me to believe she was a strong former State intelligence officer who survived many near brushes with death. This would be, however, a great book if you are looking for some suspense, romance and no mental challenges - just a light, entertaining read.
review 2: I was very much look looking forward to this book after thoroughly enjoying 'The Officers Lover', however I was saddened by the disappointment I felt. Not only was there no recap to the previous story (which I read over 2 year... mores ago) I couldn't help but feel the story descended into a ridiculous situation. As the plot unfolded, I was hoping it wasn't really going the way it seemed. On finishing the book I was left unsatisfied and saddened that the brilliant story of the first book was not concluded nearly as well as it could have been.An easy read, but certainly don't expect it to live up to the first less
