review 1: Felicity continues her adventure in Pamela Cox's second attempt at writing about Mallory Towers. I continued straight on with her. I enjoyed this second book too, just as much as the first. I fell even more into this writing, as I grew more used to it. Very rarely does Pamela Cox forget herself and use words that Enid wouldn't, which was awesome. I liked this book very much. Five stars, Enid Blyton fans won't be disappointed!
review 2: I'm in the mood for childhood reminiscence, so I have been continuing to read the Pamela Cox additions to the series. Again, I think this fits in very well with the Blyton originals. Occasionally I read a word or phrase that didn't exactly "fit in" with the rest of the language used. For example, I noticed one character used th
... moree phrase "pretty good," which struck me as very odd. Most of the time the phrases stick to the jolly old-fashioned British themes, and I would have expected the character to say something like "quite good" instead. Ho hum. It's not a big bother. It happens a few times throughout the book but it's easy to ignore.I will continue to read the rest of the new stories. I'm not sure I'll be reviewing them all, though. They're all very similar and it's almost impossible to differentiate them! less
