review 1: This was a great book with action starting right away. Tommy wakes up in a forest, a bit disoriented, and slowly makes his way home. Once there, his parents are happy to see him since he has been missing for a few days, and he retires to his room, as he is not feeling well. This book takes place in a time where it is widely known that vampires live among humans, and his parents know something is not right. Needless to say, while everyone is sleeping one night, Tommy's thirst takes over and he ends up killing his parents. When he feels a hand on his shoulder and turns around, he sees an image of himself....his twin brother Danny. For whatever reason, this twin connection helps keep Tommy grounded through the years and as Danny grows up, goes to college, gets married an... mored starts a family, Tommy is there against the odds and beliefs of all that is known of vampires. Unfortunately, Tommy ends up falling in love....with a human....and you have to wonder if that will be his downfall?!? ; ). You definitely have to read this book. It was a great story, and even with an ending that left me wondering.....hmmmmm.....it was definitely worth my time! Really enjoyed this book!
review 2: I bought this book based on a recommendation from an author I follow on Twitter. At first I struggled with the idea that a new vampire would have absolutely no understanding of humans at all, but it was interesting to see him learn from his twin brother. I found Tommy to be a fascinating character, and I think anyone who has struggles in life can relate to him. I love how the book progressed and he evolved. The end made me cry and I was actually disappointed that there wasn't more. By the time I got to the end of the book, I didn't want it to end. less
