review 1: This story is great if you really don't take it seriously. At times paul goes to the point of being really controlling and stalkerish. I did love this novel, but I can see some point seeing this as a turn off. I actually enjoyed it. each situation is tempered a bit with why Paul chose these things to do. Bette doesn't just bow down to his desires, but she is so surprised by his want that she goes along. What he does would scare me in a relationship, but it seems a natural thing with Bette who needs someone to push her a bit to get her out of her stagnant scheduled life. I would love to read the next novels in the series to see how Pauls other friends end up in their quests for the ever elusive partner.
review 2: The ending of this book was better than the begi
... morenning and the middle combined. I was glad that the main characters, Paul and Bette, found the truth of their relationship. However...before then, I did not like all the sex. Though the author was adept at creating believable emotions in the characters (she in fact is rather good at this), and though she wrote good, clear sentences, until about 80% in, the story had no plot other than "him getting with her." I finished this book more to see what happened to the characters and how the author handled the ending, than because I liked the story in particular. less
