review 1: I do not consider Coetzee a writer. He is read, acclaimed and all, yet, he lacks genuinity and heart.The book has just confirmed it, as I was "forced" to read some of his letters (I skipped all, but looked at a few to get a context).it is sad to see a book by Auster 'messed up" by Coetzee's irritating letters.One star to the publisher adn Coetzee.Five stars to Auster.This makes 3.
