review 1: This is the first book Miles has shown and interest in reading himself. I mean, reading the actual words! Not that he can do it yet, but he wants to and that is awesome. The simplicity of the story and only a few words on each page is I think what does it. Also, these dogs get dirty, love taking a bath, and wake up a sleeping dinosaur skeleton! The boys just love that last part. "Why is it awake? Why is it running? ahhhh!"
review 2: his book received the 2012 Theodor Seuss Geisel honor and was selected by the Junior Library Guild for Fall 2011. The illustrations are done in a variety of inks and pencils, with rich color and movement of the characters. The dogs in the story are full of personality and convey action beautifully. Children will enjoy looking for ea

The text is simple, consisting almost entirely of sight words that will be easy for young children to read and repeat. This book would be fun for a read aloud, as children can follow along and join in on the reading – especially with a second reading. less
