review 1: This novela was what I would avoid but once bought I had no choice to read what screwed my money. The plot was as simple as it could be for porn even if author tried to put some psychological insights in it. Hey keep with sex and do not spoil it with talks, I would say. The setting of the story was some fantasy realm with plastic dildos, do not ask me why plastic was included. Young man who wanted to be priest is married off to the older man who is as good as is humanly possible and gently coax him in to the sex and life with happily ever after ending. I think I would be very cautious about the gay novels set in so called fantasy realm.
review 2: Jag is the youngest son of a family "down on their luck". Though he was destined for priesthood and prepared for it... more since he was twelve, he now faces marriage to a man he has never met. Brace is a wealthy, more mature man, who never expected to find a man to share his life, because most families want to marry their sons to women who can have children and extend the line. But Jag's family wants him to be happy, as happy as possible given his change in circumstance. He is allowed to choose whether to be betrothed to a man or a woman, and he chooses a man. Brace can not believe his luck. He is concerned that Jag is being coerced. So when it is time to send the traditional present, he sends his family's heirloom pearl. Pearls are rare in Jag's province, and the one he receives from Brace is worth a large fortune. Enough that if Jag were to sell it, he could pay his family's debt and free himself from the betrothal contract. Tradition gives Jag the chance to spend 24 hours with Brace before deciding whether to sell the pearl and set himself free ,or marry his betrothed. Brace has 24 hours to show Jag that life with him would be better than his "freedom". The result is a beautifully written seduction, a tale of honor, tradition, compassion, attraction and lust with the promise of love.This story is all about the seduction of Jag during his traditional 24 hour "wedding night". The reader is a privileged observer in a highly sensual interlude between Jag and Brace. I was swept away by the magic of their coming together and learning about each other. I could hear every sigh, feel every caress, see every motion, every breath. I could feel Jag's eagerness and Brace's anxiety. Above all, I could sense the fulfillment of two men who had learned to cope with loneliness and slowly realize they need not walk alone anymore . For a little over an hour, I shared Jag and Brace's life and it was a marvelous experience that I highly recommend. Talk about escapism! less
