review 1: I was very surprised how much I ended up liking this book. In the beginning, Jason is the guy we (women in particular)love to hate. He's quite a jerk...or at least, he seems to be. As the truth unfolds, we find that he is just a regular guy who had some tough breaks, and he's desperate to find love...or just someone interesting who will go out with him. He goes to great lengths to get a date and when he does, he almost ruins his chance at romance. The writing is great, very funny at times, and the characters are very believable. It's a unique story, well written, and highly recommended. I look forward to reading more of his work.
review 2: Dating in the Dark is a brilliantly quirky love story, suitable for both Chicks and Chaps. Women get a somewhat interesting... more, if not disturbing, look into the mind of a single gent, whilst men have the opportunity to read a romance without all the gush and fluff of a normal rom-com.Personally, as much as I wanted to shake some sense into him, I loved the insight into Jason’s mind. He pulls some of the most ridiculous moves in order to land a woman, coming off as either one of the most warped or moronic men to walk the earth. In reality, he’s just an insecure fella who’s dealing with some issues and just can’t get it right when it comes to matters of the heart. Once he meets Emma, it’s a hilarious juggling act of pretending he’s blind while trying to charm his way into her knickers.The ending is a pleasant surprise. There’s enough emotional clout for a significant change to take place but it’s not overdone – all in all it’s genuine story with a satisfying conclusion.
