review 1: There are all sorts of idiots we have to work with every day. Every office has them. Fortunately for most of us idiots in the work place are few and far between. However, Hogsbottom Plugs, 'the home of bath plugs' has a higher concentrate than other work places, from the MD down to the cleaner, they’re all Idiots. Read the trails and tribulations of this idiotic workforce as they explain their recent life events through reviews of things they’ve brought. There's Donald, who try as hard as does simply cannot get the office junior to notice him, let alone drink some of his special, sleeping tablet ladened tea. Learn how Jeff, gets his own back on the people who mock him by re-enacted a video he saw on Youtube involving Seagulls and watch on in horror as the over-worked c... moreleaner tries to solve the mystery of who is making his job of cleaning the toilets worse than a job cleaning toilets is already. If you've ever worked in an office, then this is the book for you. You'll recognise the office sex pest, the liar and the moaning admin worker who's been there longer than the chairs. Written in the form of product reviews, The Office Idiot Reviews is the second in the series of 'Idiot Review' Books from Pete Sortwell.I have to admit to having a fit of the chuckles when I was reading parts of this, even now the mere mention of King Kong's finger makes me giggle. If you have a slightly offbeat sense of humour these books are for you
review 2: I downloaded “The Office Idiot Reviews” when it was free for Kindle, and I’m happy I’ve had the opportunity to read it. I think the layout of the book – getting to know all the employees at Hogsbottom Plugs by means of product reviews – is an excellent idea. I haven’t come across anything like it before. About halfway through the book I started to recognize certain character traits of each employee, and I had fun challenging myself at the start of each chapter in guessing which employee is reviewing which product. Although I found it entertaining matching a product to a reviewer, the “humor” wasn’t really my taste. Some would enjoy it, others won’t, and I guess for this book that would put me in the “others” category. Some of the employees’ antics elicited a chuckle from me once or twice, but overall it didn’t tickle my fancy. It does make for a quick, lazy-afternoon read, and it entertained me enough to finish it. less
