review 1: Although this book got great reviews, I didn't find it all that good. I couldn't even finish it, which is rare for me. I found the writing style pretty pedestrian and essentially no analysis. Regardless of each person's views on the choices of the Bush/Cheney administration, it was a pivotal time for America and the choices made then still shape our events today. Too bad I didn't learn anything important about that time from this book. Disappointing.
review 2: The book goes through the 8 years of George W. Bush's time as President focusing on how Dick Cheyney and Bush interacted. It showed how Cheyney's influence waned in the second term and how W made decisions that went against his VP's suggestions. It reads well and goes through all the good, bad, and ever
... moreything else in the 8 years. You see how Cheyney and Rumsfield along with the neo-cons moved the USA into Iraq and how W's advisers split over the next years on how to deal with Iraq. less
