review 1: Max Spencer is the only human who can read The Codex of Infinite Knowability. The codex is not the easiest book to work with, and the the copyright warnings are a little weird. First, is saying violators will be tied to the tree of woe and licked by fire kittens. Second, it seem to be obsessed with squirrels taking of the world. Max and his friends get sucked into the future, and are being chased by and evil unicorn named Princess? Read the book to find out what happens next! This has been one of my favorite books ever. It was really funny, and adventurous. If you like comedies or adventure books, or both, you will love this book. One of my favorite parts in when they introduced Princess the Destroyer. It was so funny that the villain that was feared so greatly, is a un... moreicorn. I recommend this book and the series to adventerous readers.
review 2: In Bad Unicorn by Platte F. Clark, the theme is that too much power and luxury can corrupt another. The book takes place in a mystical universe with three realms. The realms are unique in their own ways, and have their own creatures, dangers, and secrets. Max Spencer is a young boy in our world (The Techrus) who possesses the Codex of Infinite Knowability by Maxmillian Sporazo. The Codex is the most powerful book in all the three realms as it is a very useful encyclopedia containing many magical spells, including the Fifteen Prime Spells, which all magic is descended from. Sporazo is supposed to be the greatest sorcerer ever, and when he no longer could trust humans with the secrets of magic, he locked all the secrets in the Codex. Only a direct descendant of the powerful wizard can read the Codex. As Max and his friends learn this, they realize that he can read the book, and therefore must be a direct descendant of Sporazo. However, just as Max finds out about this, he accidentally transports them into the future, where a carnivorous, monstrous, nasty unicorn-robot named Robo-Princess the Destroyer has eaten all the humans, and rules a planet of living machines. She feeds them entertainment through regular hunts, where machines prey on frobbits, a simple, peace-loving species. When Princess discovers Max and his friends, they are forced to partake in a hunt where they are the prey. Will Max and his friends survive the encounter, or will machines ultimately rule over humans and their magic. I personally love the book, as it has a funny twist on Magic and magical creatures, and is also quite crazy and humorous. For example, when we think of unicorns, we picture a majestic race, flying over rainbows, and gracefully galloping across a wide meadow. However, early in the book, the plot reveals that Princess is a carnivorous, man- eating, sassy, cruel creature. The book makes readers think and laugh at the crazy plot, conflict, and characters. Bad Unicorn also helps understand human nature. Princess the Unicorn, being an extremely powerful and respected magical creature, was given anything she wanted, and the respect and power she held went to her head. She starts to become carnivorous, cruel, and merciless; able to kill without hesitation. As the thesis states, too much power and luxury will corrupt anybody. The book is written in a third person omniscient point of view, and because it is so, it gives a great insight on the characters' thoughts.I would recommend this book to anybody who likes fantasy and humor, although the plot can be a little confusing at times. However, this book is a great book that anybody can enjoy. less

Read with Max. I would give it a 3 but he insisted on 4. Too long but pretty funny and clever.

Almost Douglas Adams-ish in its cleverness. I had as much fun reading this as the kid.

Good book, some dramatic scenes passed too quickly and ending was vague.
