review 1: I am really liking this series but then, Im a Rachel Caine fan, so that isnt surprising to me. The premise of this series is a pharmaceutical company has developed a drug that brings the dead back to life as good as new. The only problem? They have to have a shot every day or they start to decompose and die for real. The 'patients' can heal within minutes, break every bones in their body and it will heal, even get shot in the head, and they will survive. As long as they get that daily shot. Full of mystery, intrigue, danger, drama and even a little romance and sex....this series is one of her best!
review 2: Review for Two Weeks Notice by Rachel Cane Bryn is trying to find some symbol of normalcy in her new life as a revitalist. She is managing her own funeral
... morehome – now that the former boss is dead, trying to find her sister Annaline, manage a support group for others like her and figure out what exactly is between her and Pat. But certain things like being on call for the FBI prevent the ability to truly be normal. This time the FBI has sent Bryn out to investigate a Graydon – a cleaning business. Bryn knows this is a set up – she knows she is expendable and is currently waiting for the government to stop supplying her with the drug she needs to survive. So she does what they ask only to find herself in the middle of a conspiracy. I really did enjoy this story. In part because it is so different from anything else. Bryn is not really alive or dead nor is she a zombie. I like that she has grown in this book – not quite so head strong and willing to at least try and stay as safe as possible. The supporting cast was equally wonderful, I find myself liking Pat and Liam as well as Joe. Riley who we thought was the embalmer in the first book is actually an FBI agent and honestly I did not care for her one bit. The threats just got annoying I think by the fifth time if I was Bryn I would have rolled my eyes and said “yeah yeah do what you say or you will kill me and everyone I ever met got it.” The other annoying piece was these small elements that just did not make sense to me. Conveniently you find a flash drive and you are super paranoid but never think to see if there is a tracker on it?? OR you are on the run so you take all the dogs from their home only to release them on the grounds of Pharmadene??  Overall it is a good story. Flows at an good pace and has very interesting characters even when you do not like them. I would not suggest reading this book without reading Working Stiff first. less
