review 1: Though memoirs like this seem a little far-fetched and ultimately too wonderful to be representations of real life, I must say that the humor and self-effacing wit of Shukert made this an enjoyable read regardless of its adherence to the exact order and manner of real occurrences. Also, I feel not at all more well-prepared to take a trip to Amsterdam, but the urge to do so anyway is strong after just finishing this book.
review 2: As the author embarks on her travels through Europe and life, she survives on the fuel of friendship. Taking leaps that I would never be brave enough to take on, results in tales that I found hugely entertaining. Let no demographic go unturned here, the author is equally offensive to all including her own Jewish American contingency
... more with an endearing sarcasm that I truly enjoyed. A great read for when you are feeling like you could use some self-deprecating humor in your life. less

I think I hated this because Rachel Shukert is every terrible NYU girl I went to school with.

as far as possibly true memoirs of people too young to write them go, this is very funny.

Funny, light read. Semi autobiographical - ie enjoyable! I laughed out loud.
