review 1: It was a great book. The retelling of snow what is interesting and it didn't stay close to the original story; which was good. Essie was a great character, she loved to stich (fix mechanical problems) and she always stood up for herself. Through out the book she grew as a character. At fist she was a little selfish and closed off. She soon came to care about other people and open herself up. Dane started off annoying and then he started to change and become more caring and helpful. He became one of my favorite characters, he never gave up and pushed Essie to do her best. I loved the drones they were great and their different personalities were cute. The plot took many twist but I liked the ending. The ending seemed final and wrapped everything up well but I hope there is a... more sequel continuing Dane and Essie' story. review 2: I was worried this book would be too dark for me, having heard it described as a 'darker Cinder'. And it does have a lot in common with Cinder, which is a space opera based on the fairy tale of Cinderella. This is also a space opera, but it's based on the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves; if you love retold fairytales, you'll love this. If you like some romance in your fantasy/sci-fi, but not an overpowering focus, then this book is for you. Yes, this book ventures into dark territory, but without painting the whole world as a dark place with no good people. I loved it, and I think other people with similar tastes will love it too. less
