2017 Releases That I Didn’t Get to in 2017

Happy New Year! With the closing of 2017, I couldn’t help but think about the releases that I didn’t get around to in 2017. I’ll get to them eventually (if they manage to stay high up on my TBR), but with being a full-time grad student and working, I just don’t have time to read as many books as I would like so, inevitably, I can’t get to them before their release year runs out.

Lists are the best so here are some of the 2017 releases still on my to-read list in 2018:

Warcross by Marie Lu

Release Date: September 12, 2017

This book had me interested at first glance. I mean just look at that cover! This book is about a hacker/bounty hunter who goes after players of a video game, which just is an awesome premise and I’m super excited for it. I already own it, and if you follow me on Twitter or goodreads, you already know it’s a contender for my next read!

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Release Date: February 28, 2017

This book was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement and is about a girl who witnesses her best friend being shot by a police officer. It won the 2017 Goodreads Choice Award for Young Adult Fiction and is the other contender for my next read.

The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli

Release Date: October 3, 2017

This book caught my attention because it was two things I love: a strong female character and DRAGONS. The main character is a dragon slayer; I’m sooo in! I don’t have this on my shelf yet, but I’ll definitely get to it, even if it takes until 2019.

What Happened by Hillary Rodham Clinton

Release Date: September 12, 2017

I know I was asking this question when the US presidential election was over, and I’m hoping this book will help me understand the answer. Plus, I like biographies of strong women as a change of pace when I get tired of my more reoccurring genres. She won the Goodreads Choice Award for Memoir & Autobiography, and I’m curious what she has to say about that trying time of her life. I’m interested to see which of these I get checked off my list by the end of 2018!

Are there any 2017 releases that you haven’t gotten around to reading yet? Are any of these on your list? How high of a priority do new releases have on your TBR?

Let’s be friends!

Thanks for reading! -xo Amber
