Rosalind, Celia and Touchstone are on hand to wish you all a very happy Christmas. It’s been a bit of a sparse year on the Zounds front, but I hope to make more time for Will and his many and sundry works next year, as act three continues to roll on into 2018.
There’s not a lot to reflect on this year with only four cartoons, but I’m very pleased Rosalind has joined the top tier of recurring characters, having told myself many times in the past that she doesn’t have a Zounds in her. It was fun to revisit Touchstone for the first time since his debut. It occurred to me while drawing this that he’s one of the very few Zounds characters I’ve actually played.
So what next? Well, I’ve talked a lot about doing a long-running story in past future plans posts and apart from The Trial of Antonio, nothing’s every really come of it. Perhaps it’s time to knuckle down and finally finish one of those stories. I’m tempted to try working several sonnets into a larger narrative. We shall see. In the meantime, there shall hopefully be one or two single-pagers up early in the new year.
But for now, I have heard the chimes at midnight. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
