review 1: I'm a mom and can kinda relate to Gilly about wanting a break every once in awhile but that's about it. I felt this book was a little repetitive. She missed her kids and wanted to leave. Kinda got after the first 100 pages and didn't need to keep reading it. The other this that really drove me crazy is that the first half of the book they never knew the time and how much had passed. Then all of the sudden she had a watch and could count the hours... Yeah didn't get that part at all. I don't think that I would recommend this book to others. Sorry...
review 2: Up through at least 3/4 of the way through, I was going to rate this book a two. It was very slow paced, making it difficult for me to read. in the end, because I can recognize the skillful way to author d
... moreirects our emotions, I can rate this a three. I think she made a point that this wasn't just a case of Stockholm syndrome, and I think she mad a good point of how we need to own the decisions we make and the results of those choices. I guess I would put this in the category of suspense, where the emotional journey is the main point. I could easily identify with overstressed mom gilly, and to sympathize with Todd the kidnapper. Difficult to get through, but a good story in the end. less

This was a great book. It was a quick read and had a nice twist at the end. I highly recommend it.
