Almost done

Another year is coming to a close and it’s time to get ready for the general feeling to overhaul your life that comes with a new year. With a fresh start on the horizon, many of us start to prep for the new year. What will we do differently this coming year? How can we make positive changes to become better?

These are great things to think about, but I don’t want to forget that the current year hasn’t ended yet!! I want to reflect on the things that have happened this year and the growth I have made. As you know, I skipped the New Year’s resolution last year and chose a word of the year instead.

Authentic

This was the year of figuring out who I am at my core. My year of authenticity. It’s been magical and mundane all at the same time. Nothing has really changed in regards to the rhythms of the day to day. We still get up and go to work and school, carrying on as usual.

What has changed, however, is my mindset. I’m happy. That’s where the magic was hiding. It’s cheesy, I know. Really, I get it. The funniest part is that the actual magic to becoming happy and changing my mindset came from a book.

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying up

Suddenly I realized that all of the things around me were causing me to lose sight of the what really make me happy. As I ridded my home of unnecessary items, I began to uncover my truth. MY truth. There lies your confidence and self esteem. Your calm and your smile.

So, as I sit here pondering what the next year brings, I decide to do just one more thing for this year. One more thing to complete the year. One more goal I’d like to reach before the new year. I’d like finish the decluttering process with all of my papers. I’m so close to being done and I want to finish. I want it off of my to-do list so I can begin this new year with a clear focus.

A new year, with a new word and an exciting journey.
