I read five 5 star books in September, but this one completely won my heart and I’m still thinking about it a few weeks after reading it ❤

Wow! I loved, loved, loved this book!
The Cosy Canal Boat Dream is a wonderful story set in the close-knit community of Little Rock marina. It is filled with a wonderful mix of fabulous characters that came to life in front of my eyes. For the last two days I have absolutely loved being a part of this wonderful community and I don’t feel ready to leave yet. Take me back! I miss my new friends!
This is a story of loss, grief, secrets, lies, guilt, family, ambition, but most of all, that of love and hope.
I had tears in my eyes numerous times. At one point I was crying sad tears, followed by happy tears within minutes of each other. Sometimes my heart ached, but more frequently I found myself smiling at my Kindle.
I can’t believe a couple of days ago, I almost talked myself out of reading this, as I don’t read much romance, and having read three Christmas books recently, I was worried this would seem too similar, and I’d fail to enjoy it as much as I should. However, having loved three previous books by this author, I talked myself into reading it, as a part of myself knew I’d love it, regardless of what other books I’ve read recently.
This is the cosiest book I’ve read all year. Having lost my grandad thirteen days ago, I’ve been feeling really sad, but this book felt like pure escapism from the real world. This story wrapped me up in a soft warm snuggly blanket and for two days it made me feel safe and happy. For that alone, this book deserves 5 stars!
The Cosy Canal Boat Dream is now my favourite book by this author, which takes some doing considering Lizzie’s Christmas Escape made it into my Top Ten Books read in 2016 out of 125 books read last year.
I’m now torn between wishing I’d read this sooner, and wishing I hadn’t read it yet so I had it to look forward to. I’m already slightly jealous of those who still have this story to look forward to. This definitely comes very highly recommended by me.
