Boomtown is an amazing festival, the ticket price to me is a bit high considering their anti-capatlist origin and message. But the large scale sets and amounts of actors hired do some what explain the ticket price. The weekend not only had sick music acts but it’s everything else that makes this festival for me the little towns the story the obscure buildings. One turned out be a fake job office where they make you cover yourself in tape for example. The decoration as well is amazing, not to mention the place is huge.
The only downside’s to the festival is that it’s so huge and it’s badly organised. Most people had to stand in a tight que that had hundreds of people in it all cramped together, waiting for an average of 6 hours before getting inside. Standing between 500 people in the heat standing with heavy bags for 6 hours is more difficult than people may think before experiencing it themselves. Which is kind off unacceptable for a 250 pound weekend ticket. The fact it’s four days, British weather and absolutely huge means many people go too hard and get tired or sick so it’s not the easiest going festival but it’s still worth it if you have the energy.
The only improvement I’d probably make would be to have not had an asthma attack on day one, and to be fair I don’t think that was Boomtowns fault anyway.
