Netgalley Description

In this suspenseful, gripping novel, teen twin girls raised separately meet for the first time at their mother’s funeral. Quinn has been trained to never tell a lie. Piper is a practiced liar. Narrated in both voices, the story of their quest to learn truths that have been concealed from them is shadowed by a dark spell that beckons them to run at night with a pack of murdering ghost hounds. Suspense, menace, mystery, witchcraft, family secrets, mistaken identity, and romance are interwoven in a brilliantly written page-turner that will grab and thrill teen readers.

My Review

Twin girls, unaware on one another, are united after the death of their mother. Quinn immediately questions everything she knew about her mother which wasn’t much. She is being raised by her grandmother away from civilization while her sister Piper is among friends and other family. Another thing, her mother never made Quinn aware of her sister and yet somehow Piper knew….but how?

The twin’s background is shrouded in mystery that stems back to a curse placed upon their family that fortells of their demise. The question is, who is the deceiver and who is the honest one of the two? As the story progresses, the tale grows darker and darker.

The story’s progression is rather slow at first. It begins to increase in the middle, then the wheels finally begin spinning near the end. I was more interested in the lore behind the curse and discovering which twin would end up prevailing over the other.

In the YA Paranormal/Fantasy genre, it’s a pleasant standalone addition. It is also perfect to purchase and read during the Halloween season!

Happy Reading! ~C.C. Advertisements Share this:
