review 1: This is a hard book for me to rate. Parts of it I found difficult to believe. (Really, she's not going to recognize him? His parents aren't going to rush to see him?). The setting in the 70's was interesting because it explains some of their actions, but it was also slightly distracting. Parts of it I enjoyed. (Of course I was rooting for them to find love again.). I settled on a 3 star rating because that's where I am with this book- in the middle of liking/disliking it.
review 2: WOW is all I can say!!!! Laurie Kellogg has written an awesome story about love lost to the war. I've never felt such sympathy for any characters than I have for Abby & Mac(Matt). They married young because of an oops & he got called up to serve in the Army shortly after they d
... moreid. After yrs as a POW he returns to find out his wife is about to marry & he has a son. What he does is amazing & I wish I could go further but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read this book yet. This book is a definite MUST read, it's not something I would've picked up on my own really if I hadn't been looking through Net Gallery but I'm so glad I did. Laurie Kellogg's story is heart wrenching, up lifting & just plain wonderful. less
