review 1: This is without a doubt the strangest book I have read, but in a good way. It's a cross between True Blood, The Running Man, and Harry Potter with a bit of Doctor Who thrown in. Utterly page-turning, it alternates between being laugh-out-loud funny, sassy, and adrenaline-pumpingly scary, and although it's a departure from the author's previous contemporary novels, it still comes with her hallmark smart sense of humour. A book with a bite to it.
review 2: Vampires are not usually my thing - the love affair with such creatures started and ended with Anne Rice. Neither am I fond of a werewolf, which seem to be lurking on every book shelf in every book store lately. However ... this is good. Our heroine, Jessica, is smart and sassy and Sil is brooding and delicious
... more. There are some priceless comic moments (and, funnily enough, comedy is not usually my thing either!) and its the wit that kept me rolling along. Highly recommended but will I read anymore books on vampires - probably not. Not unless there's a sequal to this one anyway. less
