Cramathon 2017 Wrap-up

Through participating in the Cramathon I finished three books and started a fourth. I see this as a success even though I only completed one of the challenges. The readathon pushed me to read instead of wasting my time on Twitter and I’m really happy it did.

What I read

Winter by Marissa Meyer

Goodreads

I started the readathon by finishing the last 162 pages of this book. I loved this re-read! Winter remains an outstanding conclusion to one of my favourite series! 5 out of 5 stars from me!

Stars Above by Marissa Meyer

Then I read the short story collection from The Lunar Chronicles and I adored it too. The stories were a wonderful addition to the series and they gave me all the feels. Especially the wedding one. I was swooning! I would recommend this to any lover of the Lunar Chronicles! I gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Kids of Appetite by David Arnold
Goodreads

Up next was Kids of Appetite by David Arnold, one of my favourite books of 2017. I re-read and annotated my own copy and I loved the experience. I was rushing myself though, so I wasn’t as immersed in the story as I was the first time. I still absolutely loved it though! Would highly recommend! I gave it 5 out of 5 stars obviously.

The Sculptor by Scott McCloud

Goodreads

This was an okay read. I finished it the day after the readathon. I ended up giving it 3 out of 5 stars. I really liked the art style and how it was fitted onto the page. I liked how the author played with how the drawings followed each other to show the emotions and how fast time was passing by. I didn’t like the main character David though. He was broody, selfish, had anger issues and his behaviour only got worse over time. I felt a disconnect from him. The romance was very unrealistic too.

Of all these challenges I only completed one and that was to read a book that was gifted to you. My brother gave me Winter last year for Christmas!

I had previously said I wouldn’t focus on the challenges though, so I’m still happy with my readathon. I focused on the books on my physical TBR, which I lowered with three books!

3 books finished
1 book started
1229 pages read
1 challenge finished

That’s all for this post! I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading! See you next time!

Love,
