Day Drinking returned with a road trip to my favorite brewery, Funky Buddha Brewing in Oakland Park, Florida. I have never been to their place before and I was looking forward to this.
Mainly, we went because they released the latest batch of “The Last Snow,” which happens to be my favorite beer that they make. The beer is delicious. It is a limited release, made only for two months a year, September and February. I didn’t review it because I felt that it would be in form since I would be biased in my review. Instead, I reviewed their Buddhafest Marzen that is out just in time for Oktorber Fest.
The beer tasted delicious. It has a deep amber color with a sweet flavor of a brown that is also bready. I was not disappointed in a beer that I haven’t heard of until now.
They also serve food and that also tasted delicious. We shared a pretzel that served with both warm beer cheese and some salted caramel. I haven’t had that as a dip for a hot pretzel but I will be having it like this from now on, for sure. The other item we had was the brat and we loved that too.
All in all, this was a lot of fun. The ride was long from The Hideout to the east coast of the state of Florida but well worth it.
