Over the weekend, Team Ninja, the creator of the Dead or Alive series, said that it will be ending further support for the game. The reason behind the decision is to produce other content down the road.
DOA5: The Last Round was released in 2015 as a free download with four characters but the full game was available which included all the characters, stages, and DLCs.
Dead or Alive was first released in 1996 in the arcades and came to the home console appearing on SEGA Saturn the following year. Today, the game became got lost in the shuffle as it competed with other games including Injustice, Tekken, and the upcoming Dragon Ball Fighter Z.
Players following the announcement, for those who still played it, felt heartbroken by the news…
Wow. They really just announced the death of the Dead or Alive franchise? That is a huge bummer.

Although the series is popular in the fighting game community, the game itself wasn’t as popular as its volleyball version that featured the female characters in skimpy bikinis.
There is no word yet on if the servers for online play will remain or will shut down. Dead or Alive 5 can be downloaded from your consoles play store or can be purchased at GameStop for $24.99
What other games do you think may soon have a tombstone in the FGC?
