Say hello to the furry felines that are my fur-children! Primrose (brown) and Felix (black and white) they are a big part of our family.
Felix was rescued when he was four weeks old from a dumpster in town. A lady found him and she could not keep him. I heard his story and decided that little dumpster kitty would be the perfect addition to our new home. Felix began his journey in with us as a true little scavenger. Eating plants and dirt from the plants. He would get into the garbages and chew our feet when we slept. Despite his little quirks he was seriously incredible and still is. He was quickly potty trained and warmed up to us. He would kiss our faces to wake us up and sleep on our heads. Felix was so happy to have a home and family he took full advantage. He is now 3 years old and counting… he is our spoiled boy for sure. Full of cuddles and happiness.
When Felix was about two he got very sick. We almost lost him. Weeks of vet visits and large bills later he never fully adjusted back to himself. He began getting in trouble like his kitten self. We knew this meant something was terribly wrong.
Our vet had suggested we get a sibling for Felix, something to keep his mind busy and make him feel like he has an obligation to take care of said sibling.
Enter , Primrose.
Our curious little spice monkey! We got Prim at 8 weeks from a friend of mine whose cat had a litter of kittens. Primrose was one of them! Days before bringing her home we set up our office space with a quarantine for her with a bed and litter as well food and toys and blankets and a pet carrier. This was just to make the transition well and make Prim get used to her surroundings as well Felix prepared to be a big brother. The day we brought her home he stood guard of her cage for the whole day. (supervised of course) He would tip-toe around when she slept. Once the door was closed at night for safety reasons he would sit by the door and wait until she cried or got up and he would come wake me up to feed her. She was so small she was still needing to be fed by mothers milk. She is now almost a year old and the photo evidence is just to die for!
He would always clean her and take care of her and the size difference is just plain adorable. Having a mom moment here!
Finally here is the day we brought her home!!!
As they grow I sure miss the little versions of them. But it’s incredible to watch them grow and love them while learning about their personalities!
Cat lady in the making!!
