Hello everyone! My scrappy friend Emma (aka pollyspapercrafts) is starting a new series all about quilts (who doesn’t love them?) on her Youtube channel and has a little challenge to go along with it. For the challenge you had to use image below as your inspiration and I instantly felt inspired to start creating and having a play.
Image by Suzy QuiltsI used the Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Fancy Free collection for this layout because I absolutely love these papers and I haven’t used it as much as I should. The layout is really colorful so I decided to use a cute black and white photo of Mickey to ‘tone’ it down a bit (and black and white photos really do go with anything).
As you can see I mainly went with the triangle elements from the quilt and I cut out a bunch of them (which honestly took quite a while but was relaxing and fun at the same time).
I used the triangle stencil that came in an older Scrapbook Circle kit for tracing the smallest triangles.
And that’s my layout – even though it took a long time to make it I feel like it was totally worth it and it gave me a ton of other ideas for future layouts. This is also a great way to use up scraps and 6×6 paper pads. Are you interested in giving this challenge a go? Head on over to Emma’s blog here for the details.
Thank you for joining me today, I will be back with another layout soon. Have a great weekend!
xoxo
Claudia
