NEW YEAR BOOK BLESSING
It is customary to most of us to get a new journal in January of each year
Also known as the “Book of Shadows”
Where we keep our written records of our journey through the magnificent World of WitchCraft
So before you begin writing about your work and experiences in it we first magickally bless the book
It is a rather simple process
All you will need is a
Candle
Pen
Smudge Stick
The Smudge Stick is a dried bundle of herbs held together by cord and easily found to be purchased if you haven’t made your own
We usually use
Lavender
Sage
SweetGrass
Once you have your new 2018 journal and before you write in it place together on a table the
Book
Pen
Candle
Smudge Stick
Light the candle say:

By force By will By potent power
Spirits I summon this ritual hour
Charge this book with wisdom well
Cast the perfect rite and spell
♠
Open the book and on the first page draw a Pentagram with the pen
In the center of the Pentagram write your name
Close the book and light the Smudge Stick
When the Smudge Stick begins to burn and smoke pass the book through the cleansing smoke
Say:

Negative thoughts are banished
Unwanted vibrations are gone
My own forces and powers I wish
Shall be within from this time on
♠
Allow the candle and smudge stick to burn themselves out
Wrap your newly blessed 2018 journal in a black cloth and store it in a safe place for 1 full day before you begin to write in it
