HELIUM

Two roads diverged from the grey wood

Empty, lost and broken they both stood

The shattering of romantic dreams is too painful to witness

All the tears shed too excruciating to experience

Filled with unending sorrow and remorse

Of the dull break in their beautiful course

A lone voice reflects on his failings

Bitter tears, results of her ailings

He never saw a moor; she never saw the sea

Yet know how a tether looks, see

She’s falling, he is falling

Sad, he waits alone

Sad, she’s all torn

All parts on the rough ground

Calmly, rain pours all around

Happily, he drowns

Happily, she frowns

Blushing outside, crashing inside

His thoughts falling apart

The images of her beautiful heart

Diminishing across his cold horizon

She is a queen with magical sparks

Now she hides in the  darks

She lost parts of her radiance

He left with all her confidence

She is rising, he is falling

She said she’d stay but now she’s gone

His days are nights

She took all of his lights

She said she wanted to fly

She went rather too high

Broken necks, no battle

All necks, brittle bottles

Maybe she’ll never know tears

He couldn’t see the undeniable fears

Clearly embedded in her sleeves

Solemnly he grieves

Two words
Three syllables
Zero truth
“I promise”

One lie, she did cry

Yet she still flew, he outgrew

No place to roam, in an abandoned home

No door, only window

Seems he trusted her too much

He carried all the eggs in one basket

Now, he is without  breakfast

She is falling, he is rising

Always on her mind

Sadness and joy, she is blind

All at once, he is the undying frost

To him she’s become a ghost

Never disappearing, ending not

She wished she knew him not

He wished he met her not

They wish they wished not

Their flames became dimmer

Now they are dreamers

She’s dancing in his storm

Hoping she finally gets home

Away from the universe

Closer to their world; theirs

They are fighting against thrones

They feel it in their bones

Love is helium, ascending

They are rising!
