Journey Into Mystery #3 (1972)

Various writers and artists

I had forgotten about this comic until I ran across it recently while working on a project.  This comic was in my original collection I had as a kid.  The main story, “Shambler from the Stars,” was probably my first introduction to H.P Lovecroft*.  It was adapted by Robert Bloch and Ron Goulart with artwork by Jim Starlin.  Also in this issue are “Revenge from the Rhine” (story and art by Sam Kweskin) and “Genius,” an early Stan Lee story from 1953’s Menace #4.  The cover is by Gil Kane.

*Or my first Lovecraft experience may have been this episode of the Night Gallery TV series.
