The sun has made another appearance, giving Westminster Cathedral Piazza an almost Mediterranean look, and we’ve been very busy planning our upcoming Festival of Travel in which we will explore the entire world from the bookshop! There will be special offers and competitions galore with daily updates on our Twitter and Facebook pages. Why not follow us to make sure you don’t miss anything?
New Books:The CTS has published some special edition gift books in a new format to the usual booklets.
Beloved – A perfect gift book for couples, newly married or recently engaged, it has advice and prayers for all the situations they may find themselves facing in their relationships.
Confirmed – Both a prayer book and a reminder of the essentials of the Faith all rolled into one.
Food for the Journey – A unique resource for anyone thinking of becoming a Catholic, or who has recently converted. It contains all the essential prayers as well as FAQ’s about Catholicism, advice on how to proceed and a selection of additional prayers.
10-Minute Diary 2018 – Shorter and brighter than 2017’s, the map of shrines and pilgrim places in the back cover will be helping us out during the Festival of Travel!
Hidden Treasures:You might not know that on the 28th of June it will be 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was first published! Now Potter can be a controversial topic among Catholics, so to help you make up your mind, we’d like to point you in the direction of Nancy Carpenter Brown’s The Mystery of Harry Potter: A Catholic Family Guide and Luke Bell’s Baptizing Harry Potter: A Christian Reading of J.K. Rowling.
If you are interested in the sorts of things that make up good children’s literature, you may also want to look up Michael D. O’Brien’s A Landscape with Dragons and J.R.R. Tolkien’s On Fairy-Stories
Number of times we’ve been asked for pocket-sized, large print Bibles:Surprisingly, none. But visitors have been asking us for directions to Westminster Cathedral……. For those of you who haven’t visited us yet:
