June Wrap-up

As per usual I am late posting, but everything has been quite crazy lately, so I didn’t have time to post as I wanted during the weekend.

Anyways… let’s see what I accomplished in the month of June:

Lost girls (Sherry Moore #3) by George D. Shuman follows the blind psychic Sherry Moore who is able to see the last memories of a deceased person’s memory. When she is asked to attend to a case in Alaska, she discovers more than she bargains for. As rumours of  girls being trafficked in the Caribbean begin to gain momentum, Sherry’s visions might be the key to finding these ‘Lost girls’.

I totally loved this book. The characters were very well fleshed out and I enjoyed experiencing different POV’s. A full review for this will follow soon!

Deadly Little Voices (Touch #4) by Laurie Faria Stolarz. High school junior Camelia has powers of psychometry and can sense the future through touch, however she soon starts hearing voices telling her she would be better off dead. With strange visions overwhelming her, Camelia is not longer sure of what is real and what is not. Is Camelia right that someone’s life might be in danger or is she imagining it all? This books was such a pleasant read! When I picked it up I didn’t realise it was the fourth book in a series, however this did not affect my reading experience. I definitely enjoyed it, and I would’ve given it a 5 stars if not the fact that I did not quite liked Adam and did not ship them two.

Plague Nation (Ashley Parker #2) by Dana Fredsti. Ashley Parker was a ordinary woman who was also a “wild card,” immune to the zombie plague and working with a paramilitary organization. The virus is spreading, and after a disaster nearly destroys their headquarters, compromising the research for the cure, things look rough for Ashley and her fellow fighters. On top of that Ashley is struggling to understand why Gabriel is suddenly rejecting her. Ashley is my favourite heroine at the moment! I totally like her bad-ass attitude. Zombies, a kick-ass heroine and a sprinkle of romance… SOLD! Eeny Meeny (Helen Grace #1) by M.J. Arlidge. Two victims, one choice: to kill or be killed. The story of the girl escaping from the woods seems crazy. However, another victim is emerging claiming that someone kidnapped and imprisoned them until one of them killed the other one. This is a good novel, story was gripping, but you could drive a bus through some of the plot holes which is why I gave it 3.5 stars. I made a full review here.

Ocean of Secrets by Aimee Friedman. Miranda Merchant moved from hot New York to Selkie Island and she was surprised to find a connection with the place. Whilst wondering on the beach, she meets mysterious Leo, and all she knew before will change.

I read this book in one sitting whilst I was waiting in line at Urgent care. Overall the prose was good, but it didn’t quite deliver what it promised and the ending sort of pissed me off. A full review will follow.

This is it for this month. I am currently building up the list for the month of July and will upload it soon. I am really excited as I have a lot of new books, especially on the YA genre.

Stay tuned!
