Killman Creek book review

I just finished reading this book. It took more than 2 days which is different for me since I usually finish books pretty fast.

Stillhouse Lake which is part 1 of the book series & it had 302 pages

Killman creek is part 2 & has 342 pages

I don’t know why I thought this book had a lot a lot more pages than Stillhouse Lake.

Both books have super long chapters though.

One difference of this book from the other is the chapters were different. Each chapter was in the point of view of Gwen (aka Gina) , Sam, Lanny & Connor

I really liked that and it played a huge part in this book.

In the first book we didn’t get to read how the children felt about what was going on and how they were each coping.

So this book is about Gwen & Sam deciding to hunt down Melvin before he hunts them down. Gwen to protect her kids safety sends them to go stay with Javier & Kezia while her & Sam go hunting for Melvin. Obviously to hunt for Melvin they have to look for clues of Absalom now knowing that Absalom is a group of people and not one individual. While Sam & Gwen are getting closer to find out the truth, a video surfaces of Gwen helping out her ex husband carry a woman into their garage and it makes Sam, Javier, Kezia, her kids & the FBI all doubt what she’s been saying all along. Now Gwen is fighting for not only survival of and her kids but to remain innocent in the eyes of the people she most care about.

I want to say that this book didn’t feel like a thriller. I wasn’t at the edge of my seat like I was with the first book. I knew exactly what was going to happen. Even though the author did throw in that surprise!

I wanna say I wasn’t as invested in this book as I was with the first. Probably why it took so long to finish. I would give this book a rating of 3 1/2 stars outta 5.

This book is a must read if you read the first!

Author does include a soundtrack at the end of the book, just a list of songs she would put into the “book” if she could.

I think they should make this book into a movie. It would be excellent on film.
