Love Me Never – Book Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I would love to slap you right now, but I’m currently wielding a nine pound ball and I’m afraid that would be called murder.”

Love Me Never (aka Lovely Vicious) by Sara Wolf is the first book in the Lovely Vicious Trilogy.

After having her heart broken and loosing eighty-five pounds, seventeen-year-old Isis Blake moves to Ohio and starts attending East Summit High. While Isis original planned to lay low that well and truly backfires when she punches the Ice Prince, Jack Hunter.

“And then he came, and pulled her petals off one by one, forcing her to surround herself with thorns to survive. But he missed one petal. And she guards it with a tiger’s ferocity.”

While this book does involve a lot of humor there is a highlight on the struggles Isis faced being a larger person and having her heart absolutely crushed by her ex-boyfriend. Isis’s mom is also struggling with the after effects of domestic violence and abuse.

“I’ve kept it inside this long. I can do it for a lot longer. Because I’m strong. Because I’m Isis Blake, and she might not be pretty, or sweet, or well-mannered, but she’s very, very strong.”

This book is funny and thought provoking and I did enjoy most of it. Because of certain themes covered in this book I would recommend this book for those in their late teens and older.

Thanks for reading!
