It’s very unbelievable how this film gets so many awards and honors in 2015. Tom McCarthy has also done some great movies with The Cobbler comedy in 2014. But, this movie has a very bad impression when Adam Sandler is very over acting. Fortunately, McCarthy can each make this great film that results can’t be denied.

“Spotlight,” based on a true story that refers to the big name of the elite journalist team of the famous newspaper ‘The Boston Globe’ who is in charge of investigating scandalous issues in the United States. In 2002, America, there was a case of the biggest sexual abuse scandal in Boston that eventually involved several priests and the Catholic church.

Maybe in the early 10-15 minutes, we haven’t been able to digest this movie what the meaning of this movie and what the purpose. But, finally, neatly arranged after in those minutes and everything became very clear and orderly. Tom McCarthy makes this movie that produces a very solid and well-crafted story. Although this film is about an investigation with a provocative theme and carries the names of Catholic churches, the film is also packed very intensely. The spotlight is a team that has a tremendous dedication in search of evidence and guidance. It also took months because collecting such evidence wasn’t easy including setting up a complicated bureaucratic system let alone interviewing victims who had fear of his past.

McCarthy managed to create a very interesting story about a thriller that brings several journalistic and investigative themes. The plot of the story is well preserved and every actor who plays so well and brilliantly brings their own roles without being exaggerated and prominent among them, whether leaders or subordinates because they are so important. The actors are also very reliable like Mark Ruffalo who cast some popular films such as The Avengers, Now You See Me and Shutter Island. Michael Keaton also originally cast the movie like Birdman, RoboCop, and the film is very well known people namely Batman in 1989.

A very thick film with Drama elements is also very good especially when they are looking for a truth about implications with their own personal side. The subjects they face are quite heavy, such as having to separate where the personal ego with the professionalism of work. Hence, the results are highly relevant and natural which also doesn’t seem complicated to understand.

Overall, this film that many bring an award is very inspiring to watch. McCarthy also makes a movie in a way that is so elegant and very memorable. The Very good ending from a movie with a very supportive actor. This film is highly recommended for everyone especially for adults who into a journalist.
