review 1: Very sweet and enjoyable book, perfect for some light summer reading. Even though the "action" doesn't involve much, the author's attention to the smallest detail gives the story depth and we get a pretty good feel for the characters and their lives, however unusual. Some of the character development could have been better and I this the story was a bit of a fairy tale in that it was a pretty simple story with a happy ending. Still, all in all, easy, light and just the thing for a lazy summer afternoon.
review 2: The Goodreads description calls this Fern Michaels "at her best." Really? I'm glad I didn't pick one of her worst. I am not familiar with her work but picked up The Blossom Sisters while browsing audiobooks at the library. It was cute and I liked ... moremost of the characters but I prefer a meatier story. There are several story lines that go nowhere and there is little conflict or growth of the characters. And I won't even get into the believability factor. less
