Ah it’s almost the end of the year, so I think its high time I discuss some of the favourite books I’ve read this year! I fell in love with many fantastic reads this year, and narrowing it down has been so hard, but without further ado here are my top three reads of 2017.
The All For The Game Series
Amazon: UK| US
Alright so it’s technically cheating, but I’m putting in an entire series because this is my blog and I want too so yolo and all that. This series has just captured my heart, I’ve already re-read it once, and I just cannot get it out of my head. I cannot believe how much I love this little self published series, and although it’s dark, twisted, and reads a little like fanfiction I don’t think I’ll be letting go of it anytime soon.
Wintersong by S. Jae – JonesAmazon: UK | US
Wintersong was an absolutely fantastic read. It’s beautifully written and honestly the blurb doesn’t do the novel justice. I loved the focus on music, and although it is based on Labyrinth you can really feel the authors own distinct stamp on the novel. Wintersong enthralled me and an I couldn’t put it down, so it had to be on my list of best reads in 2017.
Norwegian Wood by Haruki MurakamiAmazon: UK | US
I very rarely pick up adult contemporary literature, but I’ve been trying to diversify and I’ve wanted to pick up a Murakami novel for awhile now. I was honestly surprised that this novel gripped me in quite the way it did. This book is not about a hero, fantasy world, or even about a perfect romance, for me it showed people as they are and I loved that. This isn’t something I would normally read and I can’t believe I love it as much as I do, so it absolutely had to make it onto this list.
