My Little Obsession With Laurann Dohner’s Books

I have been on a Laurann Dohner binge. I’m not even kidding you guys. I’m sure it’s not healthy to binge this many books by one author in such a short amount of time. I’ve just been reading one book after another so fast that I don’t even have time to write about how amazing they are. I just rush to get my hands on the next book in the series because I already know I’m going to love it.

I finished the New Species series a couple of days ago and I’m sadden that there aren’t more. Due to the fact that there’s 14 books in the New Species series I saved you from reading 14 posts that were all going to say the same thing which would be me basically saying I’m in love a million times.

After I finished that series I moved on to Mating Heat, another one of Laurann’s series and read that so fast that I couldn’t write any reviews on those either. Am I the only one that has a difficult time writing reviews for series?? It’s either I read the books too fast to do proper reviews on each of the books or I find myself repeating myself for each book.

There were only 3 books in that series which I loved by the way. I was kind of hesitant at first because to be honest I was upset that I had finished New Species and was in denial that another series can compare. I was right in some ways. When I first started reading Mate Set I was partially disappointed. I’m not sure why but it at first wasn’t living up to New Species at all. HOWEVER, shit got crazy in that book real fast. I was hyperventilating at some parts.

That’s why I love Laurann Dohner’s books so much because you never know what to expect and she doesn’t hold anything back. Honestly. That woman is amazing and has such an imaginative (almost scary how imaginative when it comes to some of the bad shit that happens) mind. I wish I could come up with such diverse stories as hers. Each book in every series I’ve read from hers is so unique. They each have their own plot lines and problems that aren’t similar at all with the previous books in the series which I appreciate so much. So many times I’ll read a series and it seems like every book is just on repeat but with different characters.

If you’ve never heard of her or her books I HIGHLY recommend all of her books. There hasn’t been one series have I read from hers that I haven’t fallen in love with.

I’m currently reading the VLG (Vampires, Lycans and Gargoyles) series. These books seem to be a bit longer than the other ones she’s written but I’m enjoying them. I actually just finished the first book in this series “Drantos” an hour ago. I thought Drantos was such a precious character. He was the tough, badass shifter but also such a sweetheart and showed vulnerability that I thought was adorable and just wanted to hug him 24/7.

Another thing I like about her books is that all the women are badass in their own way. I can’t stand it when the females in books appear weak, it’s just not my cup of tea. Every woman that are in these books are vastly different from one another but one thing they all have in common is their take-no-bullshit attitude.

My only complaint in the whole “I’m obsessed with Laurann Dohner and she needs to come out with more and more books” is that there’s no MM. It’s obviously not her thing since every book is MF and I love it but I need a few MM books every once in awhile. Her writing is so amazing I just think it’d be an amazing addition to at least one of her series. Laurann Dohner I’m counting on you to make this dream of mine happen!!

If you’ve never read any of her books before I HIGHLY suggest starting out with Cyborg Seduction or New Species. Those are my two favorite series from her and would love you guys to fall in love with her characters as well. I’m so sure that you will not walk away from reading her books disappointed.

Let me know if you’ve read any of her books? Do you love them as much as I do?
