Alright, so a little background.
I got a bunch of writing books a while back from a promo — don’t remember where, and I’m just now getting through them. Some of them I got through in a single day because they were pretty short, and because of their length, it was really hard to do in-depth reviews of them.
So, I’m going to give about a paragraph for three books I enjoyed/thought were interesting so far.
Here we go!
Kill Your Blog: 12 Reasons Why You Should Stop F#$%ing Blogging! by Buck Flogging
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Alright. This book is pretty compelling. Buck Flogging makes a pretty compelling case about how inefficient a blog can be, and some of the writing time that I spend blogging could be used for other means. But still, the way he talks about blogs and followers is weird. He implies that followers disappear after immediately after a blog is killed, so I’m not sure if some of his success is attributed to the traction he gained from writing 700+ posts (though they could have been wiped from the face of the Internet, in which case his campaign is effective).
Anyway, I’m glad I read this even though I didn’t initially want to. Maybe creating a blog before I had any books put the cart before the horse. But it’s giving me ideas on how to blog better. And I think it’s helpful to see blogging from a different perspective if you want to make a living from it.
Dictate Your Book: How To Write Your Book Faster, Better, and Smarter by Monica Leonelle

Dictate Your Book by Monica Leonelle is a good introduction into the world of writing by dictation. It covers why you should do it, how to get started, and gives you some sources on how to avoid dictations pitfalls as you practice. I tried dictation once with some freeware software, and while it didn’t feel like the best for me at the time, I’ll be looking to Dictate Your Book later down the line to refresh and guide me through the process more in-depth.
Write A F*$%’ing Book Already – The Insider’s Guide To Increasing Your Sales & Improving Your Career With A Book by Jim F. Kukral

Write A F*$%’ing Book Already by Jim. F. Kurkral is a short, but to-the-point book on why you should write a book. It reads more like an essay on why you should write a book instead of taking you step by step on how to write one. But it makes some fair points about how your book will be a resume booster and all that. And it encourages you to write about what you’re good at. So, yeah. I wish there was a little more how instead of why, but it’s a short book. I’m sure there are other books out there that will help.
There You Have It!Hope you guys still enjoyed these reviews despite their brevity. I know I’ve done some more in-depth reviews in the past per book, but I decided to have some fun and switch things up a bit.
