Virginia Beach native Pusha T was well known around the area as part of the hip hop group Clipse, along with his brother No Malice. In 2010, when the duo split to carry on solo careers, Pusha signed to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label and released his first solo album My Name Is My Name in 2013 to critical acclaim. In 2015, he released this follow up to massive acclaim.
This project hits hard and heavy. One of hip hop’s most underrated MCs, Pusha’s rhymes never sounded more present, focused and fierce, and the production on this album is modern and dark. Meant to be a run up to his third album King Push, Pusha focuses on current issues, always relating them back to his audience making sure they feel what he’s feeling and picking up the messages he’s set out to deliver.
