Hannah’s Way is a heartwarming story of a family who must move from Minneapolis to rural Minnesota for work after Hannah’s father loses his job during the Depression. At her new school, Hannah is the only Jewish child in her class. Upon the news of a class picnic, Hannah is thrilled for the opportunity to finally become friends with some of her classmates. But when her teacher is arranging carpools, Hannah is conflicted because the picnic is scheduled for Shabbat, and her family is observant of their Jewish faith tradition that they do not work or drive on the Sabbath. Hannah desperately wants to attend, but is scared that people will think it is silly that she cannot ride in a car. This touching story is one of compassion, community, and friendship.
