Storm (Storm MC#1) is the first in the Storm series by Nina Levine. The book follows the lives of Madison and Jason who split up a couple of year’s before the start of the book. The break-up was bad and it led to Madison drinking and making some poor life choices, before moving away from her home and club to get clean. Unfortunately, one of those misguided life choices comes back to haunt Madison and the Storm MC, and she has to move back home (and to Jason) until it is dealt with.
Where to start with this book…? Well, in all honestly I didn’t enjoy it at all. I found the characters to be very superficial and I didn’t ‘click’ with any of them. The story had no depth and seemed to bounce from one scenario to the next without any explanation, or completion. I found Madison to be very annoying and considering she grew up in club life (her father is the President and her brother is the VP) she didn’t seem to get, understand or respect the club ‘rules’. Jason seemed to have two personalities, he was either annoyed and closed off with Madison, or he was sex mad and pouncing on her at the first chance he got. There was also an element of domestic abuse in the book, which was not handled very well, or sensitively at all.
There were times during the book where I thought about giving-up and not finishing, but in the end I skimmed a lot of the book and I just couldn’t seem to care what happened with the characters – not a good sign! As you can tell, this book was not for me, so I can only give it 2.0 out of 5.0.
