Hello reader/s! I hope you’re well! For a while now, I’ve been writing a weekly or bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.
Realistic Fiction seems to be the theme for this weeks TBR Tuesday! I haven’t read all that much of Realistic YA Contemporary Fiction. So these two books should be interesting. Or they could be a total hit and miss; I don’t know.
The first book I’ll be talking about is a YA Realistic Ficton/Mystery. I actually didn’t know all that much about the book, yet I bought it and have only just now gotten around to reading the synopsis! The second book I will be talking about it one that has been on my shelves for about…3-ish years? Seriously. No joke.
This first book is called Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King
So I originally thought that Please Ignore Vera Dietz would be about a girl who is haunting this boy at school. Turns out that this book is not at all like that. Instead the book is about how Vera Dietz, the main character, has been in love with her best friend her whole life — even when he betrayed her, and even after he ruined everything.
Vera knows more than anyone. And it’s up to Vera on whether or not she wants to clear Charles’ name.
I have no idea what to think of this book! What I thought what was this book was, was that Vera dies in school one day and haunts her best friend (and love) to get him to notice her. To be honest though, I could be thinking of a totally different book altogether. So when I finally read the synopsis for Please Ignore Vera Dietz, I was pleasantly surprised that the book isn’t about ghosts at all!
The second book that I will be talking about this week is The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle. — Yes, I spelt her last name correctly.
I’ve actually read Myracle’s other book, Shine, a few years back. I remember enjoying Shine, but not liking it since there are a few triggers in that book. HOWEVER, this post isn’t about Shine, it’s about The Infinite Moment of Us. I love the cover for The Infinite Moment of Us. Really, I do.
After reading the synopsis for this book, I am interested in reading TIMoU all over again. I figure that since there were two character’s mentioned, that The Infinite Moment of Us will have two points of view. As well as this story being about first loves, overcoming your fears, as well as honouring your own wants and dreams–even at the displeasure of your parents. I can’t wait to read Wren & Charlie’s story.
I am so excited to read The Infinite Moment of Us now. I’m going to have to put it on my TBR for next month!
Are you interested in Please Ignore Vera Dietz and/or The Infinite Moment of Us? Have you read either of these books?
Happy Reading!
