From the publisher:
“Skye Thorn has given tarot card readings for years, and now her psychic visions are helping the police find the town’s missing golden girl. It’s no challenge—her readings have always been faked, but this time she has some insider knowledge. The kidnapping was supposed to be easy—no one would get hurt and she’d get the money she needs to start a new life. But a seemingly harmless prank has turned dark, and Skye realizes the people she’s involved with are willing to kill to get what they want and she must discover their true identity before it’s too late.”

Review

Eileen Cook returns with another mystery full of twists in The Hanging Girl. Skye is using   her “skills” to help her local police solve the kidnapping of one her classmates. The novel will make you ask yourself if you believe in the gift of sight, while taking you on a wild ride full of twists and turns.

I thought some of the characters in The Hanging Girl were falling flat for me and it was a bit storyline driven but I was pleasantly surprised with the second act of the book. One of my biggest pet peeves is when the parents in YA books are absent or just in the background. I thought this was the case in The Hanging Girl, but I was surprised when the characters in The Hanging Girl started to become fleshed out and 3-Dimensional. Just as promised THG delivers twists and turns and many reveals early on, which I did enjoy. Although I was able to see the major surprise from a mile away, I’m not mad about that, it was an addictive ride with a unique conclusion that left me feeling very creeped out.
