I didn’t know what to really expect to see within The Infinite since it had been a while for me since I read the first book, Gates of Thread and Stone. However, quickly into the book, my recollection was coming back, which was a good thing.
I liked that we saw a new country in this world; which is something that they didn’t think was possible in the last book, and we also read mentioning’s of another country as well. Hopefully we get to read about them as well, in the third book.
The country that Kai and her employ did visit though, was cool to read about. I’ve forgotten the name of said country, unfortunately. The country is so different and utterly opposite of how Kai grew up in the Labyrinth.
It was great seeing Kai grow and accept who she is. Even if she still has some troubles accepting who and what she is. I’ve got to believe though that Kai is going to have troubles still in the third book. I also believe that Kai’s going to kick some serious butt in the next instalment as well. Which will be incredibly interesting to read about since I find that when Kai uses her powers is one of the most interesting things.
As much as this book was a great sequel to Gates of Thread and Stone, I’m kind of bummed that there was a point in the plot that I had predicted. However! I couldn’t predict all that much within The Infinite; which is great.
But why do I get the feeling that Kai’s brother is starting to have romantic feelings for Kai?? And why is she blushing around Reev?
I’m happily waiting for the next book to be written and published.

I know the book is a little hard to come by. I tend to think of this series as more indie than most, since for the most part, the books are hard to come by in-store if you’re unwilling to buy the books online.
