I love it when a book catches me by surprise. I acquired this book through my old flatmate, who had bought it from a charity shop. The way books travelling from place to place always makes me smile.
Evie is adorable. Robert is classic, and the whole story-line followed effortlessly. The entire story is relatable; I can easily picture myself in a similar situation. Also, I loved the emphasis on the Scottish dancing and the beautiful descriptions of the scenery.
The family history was very intriguing for me, learning about who used to own the old house and how they managed to keep the place alive.
A step in another direction for me, but I am so happy I went with it.
