review 1: I love the smiley machinery and the excellent text! However, I wish the book was a little less fanciful in its "cranes can pick up anything" attitude. I had a (to my knowledge) much more accurate book as a kid about how buildings are constructed, and I thought it was fascinating; I'd like it if this one stuck to things cranes can actually pick up as well. That said, as a flight of fancy, it's really appealing.
review 2: This book is great for any little boy who is interested in mechanical things. I enjoyed the story about all the things a crane can pick up. I gave it a lower rating because of how the words and pictures were illustrated. It was a bit confusing when the words were all different sizes and fonts. The pictures were ok but seemed more like a ch... moreild had drawn them and therefore were all over the place in style. I think any boy reader will like the idea of all the different things a crane can move. less
